Two Condos, One Family
Casa Color is not a management company. It is two households in the same family, next door to each other.
Cousins Nolan
Stoddart and Liesl Petersen own Casa Color Huatulco
together with Liesl’s husband, Allen Edwards. Nolan’s
parents, Janet and Greg Stoddart, own Casa Arrocito next door.
We are all from British Columbia, Canada, and we are here as often as we can be.
Liesl is an artist and
muralist. The toucan in the living room, the whale over the bed and the iguana on the
bedroom wall are all hers, painted on site — which is where the name Casa Color
comes from. She works in colour for a living, and she was not going to stop at the
front door.
Between us the family covers art,
construction and heating and cooling, which is a large part of why things in both
condos tend to actually work.

Where are Casa Color Huatulco and Casa Arrocito?
Both villas are in Villas del Pacífico Sur, a gated community at 70988 El Arrocito, Bahías de Huatulco, Oaxaca. Playa Arrocito is about 500 m, a walk of roughly 6 minutes. La Crucecita is roughly a 7-minute drive and Playa Santa Cruz is roughly a 9-minute drive.
How much does it cost to stay?
Casa Color Huatulco starts at $130 USD per night and Casa Arrocito starts at $135 USD per night. Rates move with the season, so check your dates for an exact quote. There is a 2-night minimum. Electricity is billed separately at 5 MXN per kW, read at check-in and again at check-out.
How far is the airport?
Huatulco International Airport (HUX) is about 22 km, roughly a 23-minute drive from the villas.
When is high season?
High season runs from 1 October to 30 April. The busiest weeks are 15 December to 7 January, and again over Easter. Outside those dates the coast is much quieter.
How many guests can each villa sleep?
Each villa has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and sleeps up to 6 guests. Book both villas together and you can host up to 12.
Can I book both villas at once?
Yes. The two villas sit next door to each other in the same community. You can book each one separately, or send us an inquiry and we will arrange both for you.
Is there a pool?
Yes. Both villas share the community pool and palapa lounge. On-site parking, WiFi and air conditioning are included at both units.
What is the difference between the two villas?
Casa Color Huatulco has two ensuite bathrooms and a hammock balcony that looks over the pool. Casa Arrocito has a kitchen that opens onto a large private terrace, plus its own laundry room.
Who owns the villas?
Two households in the same family, all of us from British Columbia, Canada. Cousins Nolan Stoddart and Liesl Petersen own Casa Color Huatulco with Liesl’s husband Allen Edwards, and Nolan’s parents, Janet and Greg Stoddart, own Casa Arrocito next door. Liesl is a muralist, and the murals in both condos are hers.
